Course Overview
What You Will Learn & Practice:
Esophageal Emergencies & Sharp Object Extraction: Esophageal foreign bodies require urgent, careful removal. Using our custom-designed narrow-lumen model, you will practice deploying grasping forceps and loop snares to retrieve embedded fish hooks. You will learn the crucial technique of grasping and rotating a sharp object so the point trails backward, allowing for a smooth extraction that protects the simulated mucosa from tearing.
Gastric Foreign Body Retrieval (The "Bear" Model): Navigate through the lower esophageal sphincter into a cavernous gastric space using our simulated bear model. Here, you will practice using insufflation to distend the stomach for better visualization.
